Route & timing
Leave Phoenix around 7:00–7:30 am at 100%. Allow about 3 hours to Kingman, then roughly 2¾ hours onward to Valley of Fire. Spend late afternoon and sunset in the park, then drive about 20 minutes to Overton.

Use the cooler morning for Valley of Fire viewpoints, then head northeast via I-15. Allow about 2 hours to St George and another hour to Springdale.

Take an early Zion Canyon shuttle to Temple of Sinawava. Walk Riverside Walk, enter The Narrows and turn around whenever the conditions or distance feel right.
